Seminyak. Maybe the most popular place in Bali (that used to be Kuta, nut not anymore). Hundreds of super good places to eat. And just as many awesome places to sleep. We’re visiting this place for the second time in 3 years. The first time we slept at hotels, this time we’re staying in another popular accommodation: a villa. And it’s one of Indi’s Villas, to be precise.
Indi is this Indonesias girl from Sumatra. And she’s not your average chick. She’s fun, articulate, smart, and owner of multiple villas in Seminayk. We stayed 3 nights at her Ambika Villa and before we jump into details, we think that you should know that we feel very lucky we did.

The Ambika Villa is within walking distance of the heart of Seminyak (Kayu Aya street). Not that anyone walks in Bali, but you good easily walk to the more lively part of Seminyak within 15 minutes (if you manage to pass all these amazing shops without entering). Let’s get back to the villa. Before you walk into the grounds of the villa you can’t really tell that you’re about to enter a high end villa.
The villa has the open plan. This means that the living room, kitchen and bathrooms are all outside. The decoration is modern and fine, but it could have some improvements in terms of style. Of course, this is subjective because taste is personal, but still… We’re not saying we don’t like it, but it could have done better (in other words, we’ve seen better).

Next to the big open kitchen (which we didn’t use, sorry about that, but we could tell it had everything you might need when you’re into home cooking on your holiday), there’s of course the swimming pool. It’s a bit larger than most, which is really nice. There are the beds right next to the pool so you can do some tanning and – what’s good to know – you won’t be bothered by traffic noice because somehow the noice doesn’t reach this magical place.
Another thing that stands out about this place (and it’s something you won’t see in the pictures) is that it’s mosquito free. And that’s a big plus when you’re into skinny dipping or other late night pool stuff. Indi told us she sprays the grounds every week to make sure the mosquito’s stay far away from the Ambika villa.

So this villa has 4 bedrooms. Breakfast is not included but it’s possible to have someone come in and cook your breakfast. We tried it and we can tell it’s perfectly worth it (especially the Indonesian breakfast). So next to eating in the morning with a personal breakfast chef you can have basically anything you want. Indi’s people will take care of it. Balinese massage? Sure! We also tried that one and it was heavenly. Airport pick up? Housekeeping? Excursions? Motorbike rental? Just ask and it will be taken care of.
And with that saying/feeling we’re gonna conclude this review. When you stay at Indi’s Ambika Villa you’ll be taken care of. How? That’s up to you, but we can promise you that you’re going to like it.
